SEVENTEENTH ANNIVERSARY OF DISCOVERY OF NORTH POLE. (Received December 15 at 8 p.m.) OSLO, December 14. Homage was paid to Amundsen’s memory on the 17th anniversary of the discovery of the South Pole. All traffic was stopped for tw'o minutes at Oslo, and Copenhagen. The King and Crown Prince, and Amundsen’s family, were among a gathering at Oslo, while at Copenhagen the gafhering was addressed by the .Crown Prince, who declared “the Northern Light is writing Amundsen’s name in flames on the horizon.’’
