ROBERTS BEATS GILLESPIE. MISTOOK PRESS BELL FOR GONG. SYDNEY, December 9. At the Stadium there was a remarkable ending to a vigorous fight between Norman Gillespie (9.8), of Melbourne, and Jack Roberts (9.7), of Newcastle. The contest was going in favour of Gillespie, when in the eighth round the press bell rang, which Gillespie misunderstood for the gong.
