Announcement To-morrow. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, December 8. Mr Coates has tendered his resignation as Prime Minister, and that of his colleagues to His Excellency the Governor-General. It is expected that Sir Joseph Ward will be sent for to-day. and asked to form a new Cabinet. LATER. Sir Joseph Ward was sent for by His Excellency the Governor-General, this morning, and he undertook to form a Cabinet, but no names are yet > r railable. SELECTING A CABINET. WELLINGTON, December 9. The personnel of the Ward Cabinet will not be officially announced until the members of it have been sworn in at Government House on Tuesday morning. (Special to Argus.) WELLINGTON, December 9. There is much speculation as to the personnel of the United Cabinet. Those regarded as probable Ministers are Sir A. P. Ngata, Messrs Veitch. Ransom, Forbes, and Wilford. Others suggested are Colonel McDonald (Defence), Mr Stallworthy (Auckland Provinces), Taverner (Otago), and Smith (Taranaki). Mr H. Atmore and Mr Polson are also mentioned. The Reform Cabinet, which technically retains office till the new United Ministry is sworn in, met on Friday prior to Mr Coates tendering their resignation.
