Canterbury Defeat Waikato. BY AN INNINGS AND 122 RUNS. HAMILTON, January 12. Th? cricket match between Canterbury and Waikato resulted in a win for the visitors by an innings and 122 runs. Tn response to Waikato’s first innings score of 184, Canterbury made 462 (Read 105, Nixon 89, Newman 95, Roberts 66, Page not out 40). Wing r took three wickets for SJ. Hawke two for 59, and Going two for 65, were the best home bowlers. Wa'kato’s second strike realised 156 runs (Kavanagh 43, Badeley 32, Hawke 24, Thomas 23). At a meeting of New Zealand Cricket, Ltd, it was decided to take steps to liquidate the Company.
