Township Threatened. WOMEN AND CHILDREN' REMOVED. MELBOURNE, January 12. Bush fires are raging in the Bendigo and Ballarat districts. Bush fires arc sweeping through tho Otway and Dandenong Ranges, causing extensive damage. A number of homesteads were destroyed and much valuable timber in the beech forest is demolished. Several townships were only saved by a fortunate change of wind. FIRES RAGING IN TASMANIA. HOBART, January 12. Bush fires are raging in the Southern parts of the Iluon District, and on the West Coast, causing heavy damage.
