RUNANGA PICNIC.
About 400 children and a similar number of grown-up people attended the picnic on Saturday at Rapahoe held under the auspices of the Runanga Co-operative Society, in connection with its 21st anniversary. The Runanga Band attended, and the picnic was very enjoyable. Winners of the prizes supplied by the Society were:— Committeemen’s Race, 100 yds: G. Millar 1, J. Devine 2, T. Bowes 3. Blind Boxing: J. Mundy 1, S. Maskill 2. Wrestling: N. Speakman 1, Adamson 2. First Girls’ Race, under 12 years: Pat. Keslin 1, S. Mossop 2. Second Girls’ Ra.ce: Joan Tyson 1, Elsie Gallon 2. Girls’ Race, under 10 years: E. Lemon 1. M. O’Rourke 2. Girls under 12 years: May Doherty 1, Madge Tyson 2. Girls under 8: Eva Downs 1, M. Kaye 2. Girls under 8 years: Ella Shackley 1, M. Kaye 2. Girls under 16 years: M. Pattinson 1, Dorothy Spedding 2. Boys’ Race, under 19 years: Jonas Masters 1, Erie Patterson 2. Boys under 16 years: Norman Speakman 1, S. Kennedy 2. Boys under 12 years: J.
