FINED FOR RECEIVING. WELLINGTON, January 10. After discharge, three circus hands, who pleaded guilty last week to re reiving stolen goods, were to-day each sentenced to fourteen days’ imprisonment, the Magistrate remarking that the offences seemed to be concerned on a matter of property, being part of goods stolon in the South Island from motor cars, and other places for which thefts four other men had been sentenced to terms of three months. In order that the mon might not be left stranded in New Zealand, the Magistrate agreed to alter the sentence to a fine of £5, in default a fortnight’s imprisonmnet.
