MELBOURNE, June 17. Wheat firm, but irregular, with sellers scarce, 5s lid and-5s 114 d, flour quiet £l3 5s and £l3 10s, brand and pollard £7 10s, oats 4s Bd. to 4s 9d. Barley: English 4s 4d to 4s sd; Cape 3s lOld to 4s. Potatoes £4 5s to £4 15s, onions £3 10s- to £3 15s. Hides market strong, Kip.s and lights advanced one-eighth to a farthing. The others were LONDON, June 15.
Tallow sales 1179 casks offered, 427 sold, at sixpence to a shilling decline. Mutton, fine, 365, medium 345. Beef, fine 3s, medium 34g.
The Marketing Board is presenting three challenge cups, valued at 25, 50 and 100 guineas, for the- best displays of Empire foodstuffs and advertising exhibits during Empire Week, after which the Board will commence a campaign for improvement of labels and containers of British goods. The Board’s exhibit includes model kitchens, demonstrating the cooking of Dominion foods.
