BERLIN, June 13. Otto Kemmericht, the German long distance champion, and Fraulein Edith Jensen, attempted to swim round Heligoland. Jensen succeeded in 227 minutes, but Kemmericht failed, owing to cramp in the leg. SAN FRANCISCO, June 13. There were 68 competitors in the 20mile race for 1000 dollars across the Catalian Channel in open skiffs.
