GERMAN’S SPEED RECORD. BERLIN, April 7. A German aviator, Horn, flying in a Junker three-engined 1 - aeroplane, carrying a thousand kilograms, flew 2020 kilometres in 870 minutes, a record. PARACHUTE* DANGERS. LONDON, April 7. Flight Lieutenant Soden, an acknowledged expert R.A.F. parachutist, with scores of sensational instructional descents to his credit, in a speech, declared: — “I would like everyone clearly to understand that I am not one of those who profess to like leaping from parachutes. Those who say they revel in doing so, must have a distorted view of life. Stepping off an aeroplane with a parachute does more than scare me stiff. It scares me absolutely limp.”
