THEIR HOPES OF BETTER TERMS. (Reed. Jan. 12 at 11.40 p.m.) CAPETOWN, Jan. 12. Speaking at a social function given by the Briitsh Indians here, in honour of the Indian delegation that is attending a round-table conference on the question of the Indians in South Africa, Sir Srinavasa Sastri said that there now was every hope that a basis for a perfect understanding had been lajd. lie had come to South Africa full of hope, but with not much expectation, and he would leave ■with his hopes practically fulfilled and his expectations raised still more that it would not be long before the Indians would get their due. The final sitting of the conference will be held to-day.
