ELECTRIC POWER.
RETICULATION WORK. The work of completing the reticulation of Runanga is being steadily pushed ahead and the residents will shortly have the benefit of additional street lighting and the conveniences in their homes that have been enjoyed by their neighbours for some time past. An endeavour is being made to have as many consumers as possible linked up iu Buddy town and South Beach by Christmas time. Where it is necessary to erect poles or run extra lines to link up out-lying consumers guarantees are required by the Power Board. This seems to have (been overlooked *by intending consumers who have had their premises wired. |AII consumers, Air J. Lythgoe, Engineer to the Board, pointed out to an “Argus” reporter, have to guarantee a minimum amount of 4/- for lighting service. The guarantee or guarantees arc to be supplied before the erection of the lines or other necessary apparatus. Where a group of consumers are concerned the guarantee required will be assessed in proportion to their individual requirements. In almost all instances the minimum guarantee is offset by the number of units consumed. Twenty-four consumers and nine street lamps were switched on at Dunollie last evening.
