LEAGUE CENTRE MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the League Centre was held last night, the following delegates being present:— Messrs MeKane (chair), Buckley, Tho’mas, O’Hallahan, Moore, C. Dewar, L. Hunter, O'Brien, Warwick, MeDq'wagh, Donnellan, McLuskie, Creagh, and Saunders, (secretary). The Finance Committee reported having procured a set of jerseys for the school boys’ rep. team. A letter from the Soccer Association for the use of the Rec., on September 19 was held over till the next meeting. The Auckland League wrote confirming September 19 as the date for the West CoasTlnatch. The New Zealand Council wrote granting permission for the Coast senior and junior teams to visit Canterbury.

A letter from the Greymouth Trotting Club granting the League’s application for the use of Victoria Park for the Auckland match was received as satisfactory and the match was set down for that place. The Canterbury League advised that August 22 was the only suitable date on which to play the West Coast match, and it was decided to adhere to the date as set down.

The Petone Club (Wellington) wrote re a visit to the Coast, outlining the strength of the team.—lt was resolved that the visit be accepted and that they be offered two games against the two leading teams in the senior competition, and that September 19 be the date set down to play them, also that they be offered 50 per cent of the gross gate. The Grey Club wrote protesting against the action of the Selection Committee in the treatment meted out to the Grey Club. —The letter was received . The Marist Club (Christchurch) asked that their fourth grade t<»m be given a series of matches on the Coast. —Resolved to inform them that there is no date available before September 20th. The Grey Club applied for an advance on their Trust Fund account to the extent of £lO. —Granted. The Blackball Club wrote protesting against the Marist Club playing W. Morrissey in the Junior Cup final, on the grounds that he was not officially reinstated.—The protest was dismissed and it was further decided that no Rugby player be allowed to take part in any finals throughout the remainder >f the season. The Grey Club supplied a list of re gistrations from the Rugby code, to.ailing 17. W. Page, A. Manderson, T. Currie, B. McLaren, C. Griffiths, F. Heslin, S. Baddely, of the Runanga Juniors were granted permission to play for the Rover Club, provided they comply with the usual procedure. T. Brown, of the Rover Club was placed on the caution list for illeg’l play. It was resolved that a representative team, meet next Saturday night at 7 o’clock, to select a rep. team. Mr McLuskie, was selected manager for the junior team and Mr Hall for .he senior team. Mr C. MeElwee was elected Captain of the Senior team and Mr Doogan of the junior. Accounts amounting to £6 12s Od were passed for payment. The fixtures for the week-end wil be pubished cn Wednesday morning.
