LITIGATION OVER A 115 DEPOSIT. [Per United Press Association.] WANGANUI, August .10. The Maoris displayed consideruble i.itcrest in the Court to-dny, when Wharckuru Timoti proceeded against 11. M, Downs, Manager of the Katana Bunk, on July 10th, 1924, alhging- that Downs, by false pretences, to wit, a statement that the informant was entitled to receive i’Bo from the Katana Bunk, in return for an investment ot £5, did procure the i’s to be deiivereo to said Downx, as representing the Bank. The iuformii.it stated he deposited £5 with Downs and the See rotary at the Bank, and received Si coupons, which indicated they were worth £1 each.
