ABOUT SECURITY. (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association?. LONDON, June 24. It is learned that Germany has sent a questional re to Paris respecting obscurities in tiie French Note, and has received answers. The German Government are now awaiting Mr. Austen Chamberlain's statement and also the debate in the House of Commons to-day. wh'.-h is expected to considerably affect the reply. Meantime the Premiers of the Ger man States have been invited to tisit Berlin to attend a special Council with the Cabinet on Saturday, :.t which the German reply will probably be outlined.
BRITISH LABOUR’S VIEW. (Received June 24 at 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, June 23. The Parliamentary Labour Party passed a resolution condemning the proposed security pact, as not being calculated to secure Franeo-German eon. eiliation or to stabilise European peace and as being inconsistent with the spirit and ideals of the League of Nations’ covenant. The Party urges the extension of the League to include Gethnany and Russia and the establish. I ment of an all-inelusive pact of security based on the principles of the Geneva protocol.
