LABOUR’S CAMPAIGN. HUGE MEETINGS. (Special to Argus). AUCKLAND, June J 6 Labour’s campaign in the Frankklin electorate has gone on enthusiastical. ]y during the past few days. There was an immense meeting at Papatoetoe last night, Mr Hall, the Town Board Chairman, presiding. The people came in motor cars from long distances, the Theatre being crowded, and all the standing room being occupied, while many were unable to gain ad. mittanec. Mr H. E. Holland, Leader of the Labour Party, was the principal speaker, and the meeting Insted for nearly three hours, there being no active opposition whatever. although there were many opponents of labour in the audience. The speaker had an excellent hearing, his speech being applauded all tho way through, and an ovation was accorded him at the conclusion. Messrs Savage, Parry. Bartram, Lee and Jordan, Labour M.P.’s are addressing meetings in various parts of the electorate. TORY CAMPAIGN CONCLUDED AUCKT.AND. June 16. The Prime Miinister spent a busy day in the Franklin electorate to-day, bringing the* election campaign to a close, by travelling some 50 miles, and making no fewer than six speeches. Everywhere he was received with the greatest nthusiasm. Only once, at Otahuhu, did he have to deal with an interruption. He comes cn to Auckland to-morrow.
