FERGUSONS’ NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent.) Menjbers of the Westland County Council Mr Wells (County Chairman), ind Councillor Jeffries and Mr Evans (County Clerk) went through South Westland on Friday to inspect bridges ind roads in different parts and on their way down they stopped nt Little Waitaha to inspect the site where the new Kakapotahi Bridge will he erect'd. It will not be long before the work is commenced. The Hard-up Ball nt Ross was a great success, thanks to the Hokitika people for patronising the Ross dances, there being five cars and one lorry load from Hokitika. Dancing was kept up until an early hour. The dresses were real hard-up ones; such as washerwoman, organ grinder, gold digger, won’t you buy my pretty flowers, swagger, snigger.
