V'tainford, who established fastest time for a Tasmanian rider, winning the honour of representing his State in th,' ‘ ‘ Warnambool. ’ His time lor the 130 miles —ridden in rain—was 6 hours 23 mins. oOsecs. Arrangements for the “ Warn am- • boo!” are such that it only needs • fine weather to -ensure a success worthy of the fine traditions of the great race. The event, will finish on the Ascot racecourse, Alelbourne, to ! which, the public, will be admitted fret', whilst 5000 invitation cards will be distributed to the Reserve. The first prize, a new model “Ford.” will b>' presented to the winner at th-u racecourse.
