. PROGRAMME FOR 1922. PRAYERS FOR THE EMPIRE [A. and N.Z. Cable Association.] LONDON, October 11. An influentially signed petition has been sent to Mr Lloyd George, suggesting that he confer forthwith with the Dominion Prime Ministers and the Secretary for India, with a view to advising the King to appeal to the citizens throughout the Empire to observe November 11 as an occasion for special prayers for the Empire’s peace and prosperity. The signatures include Lord Haig, Admiral Keyes, nine Bishops, the heads of all the Noncon formist Churches, many Lord Mayors, 'and Sir J. Allen.
