RUNANGA NOTES.

SOCCER BALL. Despite the adverse weather, a very large and successful ball took place in the Miners’ Hall, Ronan ga, on Friday, October 6. The first part consisted of a children’s plain and fancy dress ball. There was a record crowd of children, no less than 98 couples taking the floor for the grand march. The music for the children’s ball was supplied by Miss Taylor, and Air H. BansgroveAt the conclusion, the children, were treated to a delightful supper. This was followed by. an adults’ ball, the music being supplied for this by Miss Ainsworth and Mr IT. Bansgrove. During the evening, the Secretary thanked all those who had helped to make the ball a success. TTe thanked especially, the Ladies’ Committee, for the great amount of worx they did, and the people who had given the foodstuffs for the supper. The proceeds of the ball went to the boys’ soccer jersey fund. Messrs J. McPhee, N. Cowman, and T. O ’Neill carried out the duties of M.C.’s for both balls, in their efficient manner.
