RESOLUTIONS PASSED. At a meeting of the Greymouth Farmers’ Union, Mr F. C. Wade presiding, it was resolved:—(l.) “That this Union supports the Grey Valley Farmers’ Union in their efforts to have the Waimunga State Farm run on a dairying basis, and to notify the Department of Agriculture to that effect. (2.) That this Union strongly’ pro- i tests to the Grey County’ Council ■ against the enormous increase in this , year’s rates; also suggest that a Commission be set up to inquire into the vast expenditure at the Grey’ River Hospital, to see if the same cannot be considerably’ reduced without reducing the efficiency of the institution. (3.) “That the Chairman and Secretary interview the District Traffic Manager of Railways to try to have lime trucked across Cobden Briuge to Cobden and Coal Creek farmers.’-’ A letter was received from the Wairoa Farmers’ Union re forming a Blackberry Board.” to try’ to cope with this pest. —Il was agreed that something will have to be done soon, but the matter was left till after the formation of the Provincial Executive on the Coast.
