Fuller, has made available for publication the officers' report on the Murray lands. The report is unfavourable to the idea of wheat growing, but states that in most parts the land is suitable for dairying and grazing. Though the tension has eased as the result of the publication of the report, there is evidence the Cabinet opposition to Sir Joseph Carruthers’s big land settlement scheme has hardened.
