FIRE IN HAWKE’S BAY.

LARGE RESIDENCE DESTROYED. NAPIER, July 9. The 20-rooined residence of John Hindmarsh, at Greenmeadows, was totally destroyed by fire yesterday afternoon. The origin of the outbreak is a niyst-pry. The occupants of the house were asleep at the time. The Napier Fire Brigade were summoned, and were able to save adjoining buildings. The building was a very old wooden one, and it burned rapidly. Very little was saved. The insurances are unknown, but the loss is estimated at several thousands.
