CRUELTY OF CROSS COUNTRY RACING.
LONDON, May 31. The Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals suggests that the Grand National Hurdle authorities should arrange eliminating trials for reducing the Grand National candidates to a dozen proved jumpers and stayers, and also that the hopelessly injured animals should bo killed immediately, without awaiting the owners’ consent,
