RIVER’S TWO VICTIMS.
TE AWAMUTU, May 29. Alfred (knife (19), an immigrant was drowned in the iTinui River on Sun day. Deceased fell off a willow branch when attempting to cross the river an did not come to the surface again. It is presumed he became entangled, in thwillows. In a tributary of the same river yesterday at Kopua, a two-year-old child. William Hughes, is believed to have been drowned. The child disappeared in the direction of the stream and has not been seen since.
