LABOUR CONGRESS.
AND THIRD INTERNATIONAL. [A. and N. Z. Cable Association] SYDNEY, May 27. A storm of protest has been caused amongst New South Wales Labour Leagues and Unions through the adoption by the Inter-State Labour Conference at Brisbane of the doctrines of fhe “White Australia” in the Australian Labour Party’s objective. Tho decision will bo the subject of a contest at the annual conference on Saturday next. A strong section has developed which is outspoken in resentment of the attitude of the Brisbane Conference in removing all traces of Australian sentiment from Labour’s objective. The proceedings at the coming conference will decide tho fate of socialisation. If th?, conference ratifies tho new objective framed at Brisbane convention, it will in fhe opinion of many delegates, be useless to discuss the greater portion of the business submitted by tho leagues and unions, as most of the motions are quite inconsistent with a scheme for the control of industry by a Supremo Economic Council, which is the corollary of the now objective. The business paper clearly indicates that, as explained in a statement issued Iby the Australian Labour Party, tho •rank and file have not been organised | to the point of understanding propositions, and socialisation is an uncomprohended objective.
