WINTER SCHOOL
The school continues to do good work and the lectures are well patronised. The weather is improving ami ail the outings have ln*en made possible. T'he chief excursion yesterday was the run io Kanieri* Lake, the visitors returning with a great appreciation of the locality of the lake scenery. Owing to non arrival of slides, Professor Comiliffe’s lecture had to be postponed till Friday, ami Dr Teichelmann kindly gave his fine collection of Westland views to a la rg(‘ ami appreciative audience. Before his lecture on Wednesday, Mr Evans (president) and Mr .Jeffries ( past president > of the Progress League extended a warm welcome to Mr Henderson (president), Mr (Tunic (secretary), ami other members of the Canterbury Progress League', who are over from ( h list ch u rcdi to attend the school. Mr Belshaw, the secretary of the school, is kept busy making the Jay to day arrangements, and he has reason to lx* well satisfied with the progress of event s.
