MR HOLLAND’S TOUR.
SUCCESSFUL WELLINGTON MEETING. (Special to 1 ‘ Argus.’ ’) WELLINGTON, Mav .IS. Mr 11. E. Holland, Leader of the Parliamentary Labour Party, arrived here on Tuesday, after having had enthusiastic meetings at Oam:. ru, Waimate, and Timaru. His Waimate meeting was particularly successful. At Timaru on Sunday there was a Russian Famine Fund collection at his meeting, realising £22 in all. Despite there being' 4 inclement weather. 2000 people attended at the Wellington Town Hall on Wednesday and accorded Mr Holland an enthusiastic reception. He delivered a masterly cri ticism of tin* Massey Government ami an exposition of I ht' Labour Party's pol icy. A resolution of confidence was carried unanimously, on the motion of Mr McKenzie, of the Hotel Workers' I'nion, and Mr t’ombs, of the I’, ami T. Associat ion. Mr Holland is billed to speak every night for the next six nights in the ?danawatu and Hutt districts, after which he returns to the West ('oast wit h the Hon. Mr I’a rr.
