ADDINGTON MARKET.

SMALLER YARDINGS. CHRISTCHURCH, May 18. There were smaller yardings in all sections at the Metropolitan Market on Wednesday. Values varied very little from the preceding week, there being no fluctuation of any moment to record. The yards as a result of the rain were* in an uninviting condition, and the attendance of farmers was smaller than usual. The unpleasant conditions acted as a stimulus to auctioneers, and the .••peeding up of the sale permitted possible buyers to see it through to the lend, which took place before the light failed, a rather unusual experience of late. STORE SHEEP. 'There was a fairly large entry, principally ewes, with several lines of back country wethers. The entry was drawn from very wide afield, there being lines from Glonhope and lower down in the West Coast. The market was somewhat, weaker at the opening, but firmed as it proceeded. Ewes of doubtful ages were scarcely so good as last week, but sound-mouthed ewes were a little better. Lambs were a shade weaker, whilst wethers were much about the same, with a weakening tendency.
