DIVORCE AMENDMENT.
WILL SECTION 4 OF 1920 ACT BE REPEALED? WELLINGTON, Jan 16. Sir Francis Bell gave notice in tho Legislative Council of his intention to introduce on amendment of the Divorce Law of 1920. It may be presumed that the amendment refers to section 4, which provides that a divorce may be granted on the ground that a separation order has been in force for three years and is still in force. The Government has been bombarded with petitions asking that the section should be repealed, and the Prime Minister has more than once expressed his opinion that the Legislation of 1920 went too far. The At-torney-General was not prepared to make any statement about the contents of the Bill.
