CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY. DUNEDIN, January 16. Heavy rain fell all Sunday, and necessitated a postponement of play in the rinks competition at the Dominion Bowling Tournament till this afternoon; but, by reducing the heads to 21 and setting a. time limit of two hours and three-quarters, the first two rounds were completed according to pro--gramme. GREY v. HOKITIKA. On Saturday the above clubs met in the first inter-club match of the season at the local green, when Reynolds Badges presented by Mr W. Reynolds, of Greymouth, were competed for the first time, the Grey Chib proving victorious by one point. The green was in good order and the play was keen. Mr J. Steer pres< ated the Badges to the winners (Mr W. Blair’s rink). Air J. R. Hickson (vice president) replied suitably on behalf of the visitors, and cheers for the two chibs, ladies, and badge holders concluded a very enjoyable afternoon. Scores: Hokitika 73, Greymouth 71.
