IMMIGRANTS COMING
WELLINGTON, December 15. A large number of immigrants arc due to arrive during the Christmas and New Year season. The Dorset is due in Auckland on December 17 with 257, the Arawa in Auckland on December 25 with 550 tho Paparoa in Wellington on January 5 with 307, and the Ruahine in Wellington on January IS with 300 i^erseas settlement tmrni-, grants. Tho Pakeha, which was specially chartered to convey nominated immigrants is due at a New Zealand port about the end of January with over 500 passengers. As 5595 imimgrants have arrived during the last eight months this brings the total for 10 months to 7500, whic his above the general average of- pre-war years though there was a yeI cord immigration in 1913 of about double that amount.
