WATER-LOGGED.
SAILING SHIP TOWED TO '" SYDNEY. SYDNEY, December. IS. Thc»sailing ship Inca (whoso c.cw except two left here in a life-boat and Avere rescued and taken, on to Frisco) has arrived in tOAV. When taken in tow she was almost submerged. The captain and one of the crew who had sttuck to the vessel, wero in a perilous position. The Cosmas, with* the lnga in tOAV made sloav progress. This morning, the Aveather being fine, the Cosmas. and Inca entered the heads at one o'clock. The Inca " was kept afloat only by her timber cargo. Captain Winthcr had a thrilling narrative to tell. He explained that the vessel in the present storms encountered a strong easterly gale, near SmokyCape, and began to leak. Soon she became water-logged. They thought plio never could surviA'e such weather. The Cosmas first sighted some wreckage and then saw the Inca which caused the belief that there had been two wrecks. S ■''[' 5 lr*o
