M'LEAN'S PICTURES

The usual matinee will be given at to-day commencing at 2.30 p.m. when last night's specialities which had as their lead "The Ballet Girl" will again be presented. The final' screening of the present bill will be commenced at 8 p.m. this evening; "THE IMMIGRANT." The all-new bill for Sunday will be headed by the Lasky five-act drama, "The Immigrant," which is a great production, with a great star and great scenic effects. ' Valeska Suratt. who plays the leading part, is now one of the leading actresses in the employ of the famous William Fox Conipanyv--Miss Suratt is noted for her freak gowns and the latest Lasky feature to be released affords her an excellent vehicle in which she may star. In "The Immigrant". Miss Suratt is seen in a characterisation entirely different to what is usual in photoplays. First the star appears as a poor Russian bound for America, and later she is afforded an opportunity of wearing muny of those striking gowns for which she has become, justly famous. T A most realistic scene is provided in the play by the blowing up of a dam whereby a volume of water, is released which is so huge as to wash away an entire village, built purposely to ensure the success of Lasky 's marvellous production which is performed with that producer's usual thoroughness and excellence. The cast includes such popular stars as Theodore Roberts and Thomas Neighan. The' supporting items are all new, chief amongstthem being the third episode in the career of that remarkable adventurer, "Terence O'Rourke." The full orchestra will assist with an all new programme of items. . ■ ,
