■;To-night "The World Film Corporation ''■ prc-sents in five reels a . picture adaptation of Charlotte Gillman 's welli known book. ' ' Body and .Soul. ' ' The ('American" stage favourite, .Florence ; Rockwell, who bad made a distinct ! success of the play on the legitimate j stage, was specially engaged to play | the part- of : Claire Martin — a most exlading role — in this production. . The stoiy, briefly told, is -concerning a girl j-named Claire Martin, niece of a wealthy New York woman, who suffers! " loss of memory, and while in a state 'of oblivion wanders through the woods. ■In a search for shelter and food she ( ckahces upon a woodsman's cabin, j which turns out to be temporarily occupied by a New York sportsman. He keeps her under the protection of his roof, and soon finds himself deeply in love with her. All- goes well till a strange rider passing the cabin calls for. a drink and sees Claire. Claire takes a sudden liking for the newcomer, and offers no objection to. being kissed. At that moment Houghton. 'the sportsman, returns, and there is an angry scene. Houghton takes a knife , and marks the girl's shoulder, to indicate- his possession of her. The ttcwconver is dissatisfied, however, and ■ ufter a series of extraordinary happenings Claire kills Houghton and, regaining her- right mind, turns to Kent for his protection. Kent decides to be her protector for all time, and all ends as a real good picture should; The supporting programme includes "The Broken Coin" (N* 20), and a Billy Merson comedy, in three reels. The usual matinee will be helix to-morrow (Saturday),, when" this splendid programme will be repeated. Sunday's 'enormous attraction is a Famous Players' production in 'five big parts, featuring Mary Pickford, in her latest and greatest triumph, "Madame Butterfly." . .
