FRENCH REPORT
The High Commissioner reports from London under date of October as follows : — North-east of Massiges a sudden attack gave tlie : Allies mastery of a German trench in close proximity to positions recently captured. Fighting was continued foot by. foot in the Champagne district. There is stubborn resistance to the Allied troops, but our offensive immediately it was resumed broke the German counter attacks. Regarding the Balkans, the report is false that the French have been beaten back on the right bank of the » ei'dar.
