SUMMARY.
Strong westerly and southerly winds have prevailed, and gales .are still reported in parts. South of Cook Straits, the weather has been changeable, with scattered showers, but stormy conditions have been experi. enced about Foveaux Strait. The atmospheric pressure has increased' everywhere. FORECAST. The present indications are for strong, south-westerly . winds, veering to northerlies shortly.. The barometer rising temporarily, but falling in the south again by to-morrow . evening. Expect squally and changeable weather generally, with pasing showers, especially in the West Coast and southernmost districts.
