Miss S. Morris, Secretary Ladies' Patriotic Guild, wishes to acknowledge the following gifts for enclosure in the case that is to be packed for our soldiers at the front to-night. From Waiuta — Mrs Morrison, socks and toilet soap ; Mrs Torrance, socks soap and pencils; Mrs 'Downey, socks; Mrs Fallon, handkerchiefs and soap; Mrs Kae and Miss H. O'Grady, towels, handkerchiefs, . tooth powder ; Miss Greany, writing pads; Mrs Fitzmaurice (Blackspoint), parcel; Miss Shepherd, parcel. SAND BAGS. The Secretary also asks all farmers and others, who have, bags suitable for use as sand bags, to send them in. This is one of the requirements of the Defence Department, bales of these bags are sent to the Front as opportunity offers, and they have proved invaluable to the men in the trenches at Gallipoli.
