Miss Kettle, we are pleased to inform our readers is doing nicely, and her condition is causing her parents less anxiety.
Mr. I. H. B. Jeffares, who ihas held the office of train-running clerk in the Railway District Manager's office at Auckland for the past two years, has been promoted to the position of sta-ion-m aster a Napier. Mr. A Stubbs, at presnt chief clerk" at Napier, will fill Mr. Jeffares's place in the Auckland office.
Mr Edward R. Viekerman, formerly manager of Union Bank, Lyttelton, and now residing at Auckland, arrived in town yesterday in company with his brother, Captain F. Vickerman.
A laconic but pleasant cablegram, re ceived yesterday, from Private Arthur Wylde (Machine Gun Section), Gallipoli Penisula, via Alexandria, to his friends in Greymouth, reads "Quite Well."
News conies from Wellington that Mr T. E. Y. Seddon, member for Westland (Liberal), and Mr Downie Stewart, Dunedin West (Reform), have enlisted in the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces. -They enlisted in the ranks, and go into training" at Trentham shortly.
