GREYMOUTH JOCKEY CLUB

GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING

A meeting of the General Committee of the Greynrouth Jockey Club Leld last night was attended by the following: Messrs M. Hannan (Chairman), H. J. Bignell, T. E. Coates, E. M. Sheedy, E. J. Smith, W. Claughsey, J. Walton, and R. Dunphy. ■From) the Racine Conference asking for the Balance Sheet wLich was in the hands of. the Committee.

The Secretary stated that he had already complied with the request.

The Secretary's action was endorsed

From J. M. O'Grady, on beLalf of the Sports. Candidate at th c Hokitika Carnival, thanking the Club for the assistance- 7 rendered their candidate in aid of the Belgian Relief Fund. — Received.

From A. D. Willis, Wanganui, forwarding sample of a new totalisator ticket. — Received.

From W. Cochrane, Clerk of the Course, applying for a new uniform.

The matter was left in the hands of tL'p Chairman and' the Secretary.

From the Greymouth Golf Club, ask intr for permission to cut three or four fir trees on the links.

A circular was received from the Racing Conference with reference to preventing undesirables, bookmakers, arvlothers entering- a racecourse, and stating that the Conference would prepare a set of ; rules if the Clubs were not doing- so.

It was resolved tl.'at the matter be left to the Racing Conference.

Mr. H. J. Bigrfell submitted plans of tiie proposed alterations to the course, and it was resolved that the whole committee visit the course.

DISTRICT COMMITTEE

A meeting of the District Committee was held immediately afterwards, all thf above members beinor present.

Apologies were received from Messrs D. T Evans, W. H. Butland, and W. B. Gilbert.

From the Karamea Club, stating that they intended to claim January Ist. tqi6.

From the Reefton Trotting Club, stating that they mended claiming June 3. — the matter had already been dealt - with*.

From the Racing Conference, forwarding: a list of the dates of the permits for the various Clubs for the season 1915-1016, and asking- that the Club notify any mistakes they detected. '

The Secretary was instructed to wire that owing to a misprint the Westport meeting appeared as March igtL', instead of March 17th.
