Hamilton, the Barries physician charged with '.he ill-treatment of in-sane paltients at hii nursing home, ended (to-day in the' acquittal" of the accused." Dr. Hamilton himself gave evidence that .he only smacked "the girl Play- : Coghlari with a silpper. He .further declared that '.the girl was fully dressed 'at the time, and, not naked, as had been alleged.
■The'jUi'y .without waiting to hear any more evidence, returned a verdict of not guilty, and the accused was discharged. . - Leaving the court, ' Dr. Hamilton was hoisted shoulder-high by a number of medical students and carried away.'
