YOUNG MEN'S CLUB

There was a good attendance at a meeting of the above club held last night. Mr. A. A. Rowe occupied the chair. The team to represent the club in the 'Competitions was finally selected and is the strongest yet put forward by the club.

It was decided' to stage the comedy " t Dr. Bill" on Monday Sept gth, .after which the tour of the neighbouring towns will be made and the .performance repeated at Greymouth. Final arrangements were made for the card tournament with the Railway Officers Institute in the Railway Hall tb-nighf. The report of the ladies' committee controlling the bazaar was received and deemed higMy satisfactory. It was decided to hold another social and dance in the United Pavilion on Wednesday Sept 4th.

A very successful social and -dance was held last evening in the United Club's Pavilion in aid of the funds of the Young Men's Club's ladies' committee to provide material for the sewin-g bee in conn ec don with the forthcoming bazaar. Mr. W. Garth sunplied the music and the ladies the refreshments, and altogether a very enjoyable evening was spent.
