(Red. 12.30 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 21/ Sir Edward Grey, speaking at Sun,derland, remindied the Liberal critics •ihat the foreign policy was not his 1 but the Governments. A certain section of the Liberals advocated the maximum interference in the world's affairs, with the minimum of friendship. Such a policy would leave us friendless in Europe. If we accepted -Vhe responsibility of guaranteeing the independence of 'countries like Persia %c increase of militairy .burdens would be greater than we couM bear. He blamed the alitude of the Belfast Unionists in their actton ,not against Homei Rule,- but a-gainst democracy and free speech. He concluded by advocating Home Rule for Ireland and' all round.
