He gained third place in the 100 yds. to C. T. Young (11yds.) and A. T. Duncan (2yds.), the winncis dime being 10 l-ss. In the'-'s2cond heat of the 220\-ds. event he ran splendidly, but stumbled and gained only third, place. The time of . the . winner G. Wilton (7yds.) was 22 3-s"s. In ths 100 yds. race from scratch, A T. Duncan won with Messenger x (Master-ton) second, amd Coard third. In .toe 220 yds. race from scratch Coard won with R. McKenzie (Masterton) ; second and Messenger third. Duncan did not start in the hammer throwing. A. Bissetfl registered 122 ft. 2in.
