Sir John Findlay will bq a candidate tor tlvj Parnell general elections provided thd prospects are sufficiently attractive. Ho will leave Wcllingfton to-motrrow mormn.of and arrive in Auckland on Sunday. Axlanffem^nts arc being- 'male for a deputation of Parnell electors to wait upon him, probobly on Tuesday morning. " Mr. Laury doer, not intend to seek iro-e-lcction," Sir John Findlay informed ,m<j this afternoon. Pannell has beeoi a riovernment seat for many years, and it -is only right that we -should make an endeavour to retain it. Since the matter has been in the air I hava received scores of telegrams of a most encouraging- icharjacter, ibut' I cannot arrive at a decision un'n'J I h-ewe consulted some judicious friends. Sir John added that probably ho would ■not g-ivq a reply to the deputation immediately. Ha would bo able to announce his decision on his return to Wellington on Wednesday afternoon.
