RAILWAY WORKERS' AWARD.

The Federal Arbitration : Court - delivered judgment on the Engine Drivers' and Firemens' Association of Australia's daim affecting a, large number of leading mines throughout the Commonwealth. The rates fixed as follow: — Locomotive and winding engine drivers, 11s to 12s daily. Other engine drivers, 9s to 10s. Firemen in charge' of one boiler, 8s 4d; two "boilers, 9s. Greasers and cleaners, Bs. iH edid not think that a case, was made out for preference for' unionists.. • Working hours are to ,be 48 hours weekly, excepting in the case of locomoitive drivers, regarding whom it is impossible to fix- hours The award operates for five years.
