♦ The following replies have been received in answer to the petition sent to the Government asking to have the State coal sold in town at a reduced rate: — WELLINGTON, March 28. Josiah Rogers Esq. Dear Sir, — I am in receipt of your letter of tbe 10th instant, forwarding a petition addressed to the Hon. Minister for Mines and myself, asking that the citizens of Greymouth be allowed the privilege of purchasing coal for domestic and other purposes from the State Coal Mine, and in reply, desire to say that I have placed the petition in the hands of the Hon Minister for Mines.
