[PER JPR.B3S ASSOCIATION.) Christchurch, January 24. At the Uliristchurch Cycling Club's meeting to-day there was fine weather and a large attendance. Great interest was taken in the m&'.tch between Martin and Southerland. The first distance in the match (one mile) was won by Southerland, who, after a p-.infally slow .race jnmped at the right moment; and "left" his opponent badly In the second distance (20 miles) a number of accidents occurred, and after compl eting about fifteen miles Martin retired, leaving Southerland to win the purse of LSO and the wager of L 25 aside.
