The House, after a protracted stonewall affirmed the resolution in favor of bringing in a bill to amend the law in respect to co-operative stores and clubs, leaving out all mention of hotels and Sunday trading. Copeland refused to bring in such a bill, and progress was reported. The House adopted the Legislative Council's amendments in the Conciliation and arbitration Bills. Reid, in announcing that prorogation would take place to-day, said he would not be able to* call Parliament together before the end of June or the beginning of July on account of the Federal referendum.
