[by electric telegraph— copyright.] (Received April 20, at 0 25 am.) Launceston, April 20. The Unioa Steam Ship Company's steamer Australia, with 20 passengers and 120 tons of cargo, struck a reef at West Point, the entrance to \rthur river, early yesterday morning. The Captain ran her ashore in a sinking condition on a sandy beach. The passengers and crew are safe. It is doubtful if it. Is possible to save the vessel. Assistance has been sent. Details of the accident are meagre.
